Between the subway system, SoHo street names, and countless entertainment possibilities, it can be hard to decide what to do and where to go in such a short period of time–like the weekend of the 150th Rivalry Game. With many alumni pregame events already sold out, you may find yourself wandering the streets of Manhattan looking for something to get you into the game day spirit. From steak dinners to bottomless brunches, otherwise know as the Manhattan tailgate, here’s a comprehensive list of great spots to check out during this historic weekend.

Dinner

The city is a mecca of diverse cuisine and unforgettable dining experiences. If you’re in the city Friday night and have a particular craving, try downloading the Yelp app on your mobile device and searching by cuisine by “current location.” Yelp has a map feature and will provide you with a list of restaurants by ratings in the neighborhood you are in. If you are looking to hit one of the city’s finer restaurants, you must make or have already made reservations, however, for a football weekend, what better way to prepare for a great American pastime than a true American meal.

I recommend Hillstone. The restaurant will be busy on a Friday night, but can accommodate small parties without a reservation. At Hillstone, you cannot go wrong with any one of their melt-in-your mouth burgers or their fall-off-the-bone, smoky, Campfire Barbecue Pork Ribs. For starters, the creamy Chicago-Style Spinach Dip is a must and their shoestring french fries and coleslaw are unforgettable signature side dishes. There are two locations for Hillstone, one in Flatiron and one in Midtown and dinner prices range from $20 – $60 per person. For a cheaper eat, try one of many New York City burger joints. In the spirit of rivalries, I nominate Shake Shack, or the East Coast competitor of the famous West Coast, In-N-Out.

Night Clubs and Bars

For those looking for a sports bar scene, the Village Pourhouse is a favorite for the NYU, craft beer loving crowd. Legends, on the other hand, is known for its football fanatic patrons and drunken FIFA tournaments. For those looking for bottle service and a place to dance the night away, Finale, in the East Village, and Provocateur and Gilded Lily, in the Meatpacking District, always gather a crowd. For the early birds, Le Bain at the Standard Highline, also in the meat packing district, opens its doors at 10 p.m.

Bottomless Brunch

For game day, no one does inexpensive bottomless bunches like New Yorkers. Calle Ocho on the Upper West Side is a Latin American restaurant that offers complimentary sangria served throughout your meal. Agave in the West Village has a fixe-prix brunch menu of $27.95 with two-hour bottomless mimosas, wine, or Agave traditional margaritas and a menu that includes a lobster benedict and their famous huevos rancheros. For those with deep pockets, the brunch club or day club is also a beloved New York tradition. Stop by Bagatelle or Beaumarchais for an early dance marathon and cocktails before the game.

Mid-day Hangover Cures

Finally, when the game is over and the hunger has won, there is nothing that beats a mid-day hangover than an authentic New York slice, and the Bronx has some of the best pizza in New York. For a thin gourmet slice, Coals in the Morris Park neighborhood offers fixings including truffle oil and grana padano. For that piping hot, gooey slice, New Yankee SK Pizza will give you a gigantic bit of heaven for a few bucks. And finally for that family ran brick oven pizza joint, Patricia’s in Morris Park is a truly a personal favorite.
