Adam Nussbaum: Take me through a typical in-season day.

Amanda Case: We have practice every day from either 4-6 p.m. or 7-9 p.m. depending on the day and we lift twice a week.

AN: What other sports have you played and when?

AC: I played soccer in high school, but stopped once I got to Lafayette.

AN: When did you start playing lacrosse?

AC: Third grade.

AN: Who has been the most influential figure throughout your lacrosse career?

AC: Kathleen Geiger. She’s my best friend’s mom. My friend plays at Loyola and Kathleen is the director at the local recreation center. She always pushed me to work my hardest and helped me improve my game to reach my full potential.

AN: What was your recruitment process like?

AC: It was a pretty easy process. You basically have to reach out to coaches and actively contact them and hope that they like your skillset and contact you back. I’ve known the Lafayette coach for a while and once I started looking at the school it was an easy fit both academically and lacrosse-wise. It was an easy decision after my official visit.

AN: What adjustments did the team make over the offseason to prepare for this season?

AC: We lost a really important senior class so we knew that we would be young this year. We knew we were going to start the season off with a lot of tough games, so we worked on incorporating the new girls, filling the gaps from last year and overall development of a new team. We took the time to bond and form new chemistry in order to operate as a cohesive unit.

AN: How is the team feeling after the first seven games of the season?

AC: Our record isn’t that great thus far, but we’re feeling optimistic and hoping that the rest of our Patriot League games can be wins. However, they were a great learning experience and now we know how hard we have to work to win.

AN: What is the team doing to prepare for the upcoming game at Loyola?

AC: We have a full week of practices so we’re focusing on making all of them count and improving every day. We know Loyola is going to be tough being that they are the reigning Patriot League Champions. The team has been mentally preparing and is ready to play tough. This game will be a good learning experience and it’ll help us develop.

AN: What are your personal goals for the rest of the season?

AC: At the end of the day, the most important thing is winning. My goal is to play as hard as possible and do everything in my power to help us win. Of course, I want to score more goals than last season, but this is a team sport and it comes down to winning.

AN: Who on the team deserves a shout-out for their performance thus far?

AC: Our freshmen goalie, Anna Raymond. She’s young and still learning, but she has played very well and will continue to improve.

AN: How do you think your game has changed from freshmen to sophomore year?

AC: I thought being a freshman was fun, because I didn’t necessarily have a reputation, expectations or any pressure. I was able to rely on the senior class, but now, as I’m getting older, I have people relying on me. There is more pressure, but I like it because it inspires me to perform better and be a good influence on everyone.

AN: What’s your favorite vacation spot?

AC: Australia.

AN: What’s your favorite food?

AC: Mac’n’cheese.

AN: If you could meet one celebrity, who would it be?

AC: Beyoncé.

AN: What is your favorite movie?

AC: Remember the Titans.

AN: What don’t people know about you?

AC: I can speak three different languages.
