The Lafayette Men’s Soccer Team was left out of the Patriot League Tournament, despite defeating Bucknell 2-0 in the regular season finale.
Lafayette finished the season 9-5-4, the third best record among Patriot League teams. The Leopards went 3-2-2 in league, tying for fourth with Navy but losing out in a tiebreaker.
Forward Kyle Scharfenberg ‘13 had both goals in the victory over Bucknell and finished with a team-leading seven goals on the season. Midfielder Blake Fink ‘13 finished second on the team in scoring with four goals, while midfielder Sean Peckham ‘13 had a team-high six assists.
Goalkeeper Graham Heydt ‘12 capped off his Lafayette career with a shutout, his seventh of the year. The senior led the Patriot League in saves and save percentage, while ranking 5th in the nation in goals against average.
The tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. in Washington, D.C. as the top seeded American Eagles take on the Navy Midshipmen. Colgate and Lehigh will square off at 2:00 p.m. The winners will meet on Sunday for the Patriot League Championship at 1:00 p.m.
