Looking to escape the dreary winter weather? What better way than to curl up and spend an afternoon with the master of that warm-and-fuzzy feeling, Nicholas Sparks?
Logan is a U.S. Marine with an unbelievable lucky streak. He’s survived so many combat attacks that his fellow marines have stopped slapping him on the back and starting eyeing him suspiciously. Logan attributes it to his lucky charm—a photo he found in the desert of a young woman smiling. After surviving his third tour of duty in Iraq, and with nothing left to lose, Logan sets off to find the woman in the picture and repay her for his survival.
What follows makes for a quick and fairly predictable read, but if it’s what you’re in the mood for, the book offers a nice escape to the warm Carolinas and Sparks’ world of happy endings.
