Show her the accolades. Bring on the honors.
Deanna DiCroce ‘13, forward for the field hockey squad, capped off a stellar four-year career last fall. The senior was an irreplaceable piece on a team that won its second Patriot League title in as many years, and for her efforts, she has earned the first-ever ALSAFemale Athlete of the Year award.
DiCroce has a growing trophy case to add this honor to. This year, she took home her second consecutive Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and her fourth consecutive All-Patriot League First Team selection.
She was key during the Leopards’ Tournament run, scoring three goals and adding an assist on her way to winning the Patriot League Tournament MVP. She also led the Patriot League in points (51) and goals (18). DiCroce concludes her career second in league history in points, and third in goals and assists.
Thank her lucky stars: DiCroce was selected as an All-American by two organizations in 2012.
Good enough for you?
She also went top shelf with an overtime penalty stroke to beat American for her second consecutive PL Championship.
The Doylestown, Pa. product was key in the clutch, scoring five game winning goals.
Sprinter Devin Smith ‘16 was a close runner up, finishing second in voting. The freshman had a spectacular rookie season for the Lafayette track and field team, but in the end, DiCroce was the best player on a repeat champion team.
