“Patch Up Haiti” was started in 2010 by the Hispanic Society of Lafayette (HSL). HSL wanted to reach out to the Lafayette community in a creative and effective way in order to contribute to the Haiti relief efforts. Participants are given a 12×12 piece of cloth to decorate after contributing a small donation. Once completed the patches will be sewn together into a quilt which will eventually hang in Farinon, reminding the campus community that Haiti is still suffering from the devastating earthquake of 2010. HSL wants to remind everyone that it is never too late to help. All donations and proceeds will be sent to a non-profit organization in Haiti to continue helping those effected by the natural disaster.
