Last week, we printed an article about Bailey Health Center’s hours, which currently run from 9-5 on weekdays and 11-3 on weekends.
The Alcohol Procedures Review Group and Director of Health Services Jeffrey Goldstein M.D. recently proposed expanding these hours, making Bailey’s open all day, 24/7.
Money, however, may keep this from happening. Bailey’s would need at least three more staff members. Medical equipment would also need to be doubled.
Vice President for Campus Life & Senior Diversity Officer Annette Diorio said there are “only two ways to address unfunded initiatives—take in more money or spend less on a different program.” Diorio listed the library and gym as examples.
So we asked 72 students, which would you prefer: A 24-hour library service, or a 24-hour health center?
