Don’t worry, it’s not just your Mobile Order that’s not working anymore: Lafayette College students looking to order a bite to eat, on or off campus, will now rely upon the Grubhub food delivery app.
“This solution allowed us to integrate a widely-used application with our current dining operations to provide a seamless mobile ordering experience,” Tony Williams, the resident district manager of Parkhurst Dining, wrote in an email.
Like its predecessor, the Mobile Order app, Grubhub Campus allows students to order from all Lafayette pick-up dining locations. Additionally, students can now see a more accurate wait time and where their order is located within a location’s queue. Instead of a separate app, like Transact eAccounts, a meal swipe and Pard Dollar balance can be accessed in the Grubhub app itself.
Through automatic enrollment in Grubhub+, students can also order food from the same app from any off-campus locations partnered with Grubhub, offering free delivery on some orders. Pard Dollars are also now available for use through the app at any Grubhub-available location, an upgrade from the 18 nearby restaurants and stores that accepted Pard Dollars previously.
Many students said they were excited about the upgrade and its new features.
David Broczkowski ‘28 said he specifically likes the queue feature of the app and that “overall, it is a good change.”
The app experienced a few hiccups in the first few days of the semester, such as the inability to order multiple toppings at Cinco, which has now been resolved. Williams wrote that the dining staff has made minor tweaks since the semester started, but they have “received much positive feedback.”
“The Grubhub interface is considerably easier to utilize and much more customer-friendly,” he wrote.
Students must select Lafayette from a list of campuses on the app and verify their Lafayette email address before accessing the college’s ordering system.
Selina Zhu ‘27, the former chair of the Student Government dining committee who helped spearhead the changes, could not be reached for comment in time for publication. Multiple dining employees approached by The Lafayette declined to comment.
