Student government is seeking applications for a class of 2017 representative position after a previous occupant resigned to study abroad.

Chair of Representation Bilal Akbar ’18 plans to collect all applications by Friday at 8 p.m. and have the election early next week. Any member of the class of 2017 is eligible to be on the ballot, unless they are academic or disciplinary probation.

Akbar said Sadé Evans ’17 had planned to go abroad this semester when she represented the class of 2017 in the spring. An election was not held at the end of the spring semester due to interference by final exams.

On Wednesday night, Akbar said he has received one application since the announcement was sent out to the campus that morning.
