Men’s Soccer (2-1-3)
T, 0-0 (2OT)- Lafayette vs. Fordham
Sophomore Brad Seeber made six saves in the game. Fordham led Lafayette 13-5 in shots, 6-2 in shots on goal and 8-1 in corners. The team’s next home game is Sept. 22 against Albany. Start time is 7pm.
Field Hockey (5-1)
W, 1-0 (OT)- Lafayette vs. Monmouth
Senior Katie Birle scored 2:11 in to overtime to carry the Leopards over Monmouth. Junior Katelyn Arnold had four saves in goal to preserve the shut out.
W, (2-1)- Lafayette vs. Quinnipiac
Goals from junior Amanda Magadan and senior Hannah Millen kept the Leopards unbeaten at home. The team fended off three penalty corners at the end of the game to hold on to the win.
Women’s Soccer (5-1-0)
W, 1-0- Lafayette vs. UMass-Lowell
An early goal from freshman Katie Brannigan was enough to propel the team over the River Hawks. Junior Danielle Cedillo and sophomore Kelly O’Brien split time in net and each had two saves.
W, 2-1 (2OT)- Lafayette vs. New Hampshire
Junior Kaelin King’s two goals on the day carried the Leopards with Brannigan assisting both goals. Cedillo had a save and allowed one goal on the day before succumbing to an injury. O’Brien had two saves in relief.
Volleyball (5-3)
Friar Classic
L, 3-2- Lafayette vs. Fairleigh Dickinson
The Leopards lost the decisive fifth match 15-12 after trailing at one point 10-3. Senior Brianne Giangiobbe had 17 kills and senior Lauren Pisauro had 22 digs.
W, 3-1 Lafayette vs. Saint Peter’s
Lafayette secured its second win of the year over Saint Peter’s behind a 13-kill effort by Giangiobbe.
L, 3-0 Lafayette vs. Providence
Despite 17-13 and 14-6 leads in the second and third sets respectively, the Leopards dropped three straights sets to the host Friars. Pisauro had 17 digs in the lost.
Football (0-2)
September 12- Lafayette vs. Delaware
L, 19-9
Freshman placekicker Jacob Bissell provided all of the offense for the Leopards with three 40+ yard field goals. Brandon Bryant paced the defense with 18 tackles. The team takes on Princeton this Saturday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.
Golf
September 11-13- Bucknell Invitational
2nd place
Senior Patrick Luther won the tournament by three strokes at 2-under par. Sophomore Art Griffin was the Leopards other top-10 finisher. He finished 3-over which was good enough for 4th place. The team finished 2nd in the tournament.
Cross Country
The men’s and women’s teams will host Lehigh at home Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. for the Lafayette-Lehigh Dual Meet.
