Ryan Spadola, a former star for the Lehigh football team, has survived the cuts and fulfilled his dream after signing with the New York Jets. In the Jets’ third preseason game against the New York Giants, Spadola caught three passes for 110 yards and a touchdown – a performance that stuck out to the coaching staff.
Spadola signed as an undrafted free agent in April following the end of the NFL Draft. From a mid-major program, his path to the NFL is one many young prospects can only dream of. In his career at Lehigh, Spadola had 232 receptions for 3,611 yards and 24 touchdowns.
The Jets open the regular season this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
