1.) How does it feel to rank in the Top 10 all-time in nine different categories?
It feels great. I am very proud of it, but I’m going to try to get higher up this season if I can.
2.) How did you get involved in softball, and who has influenced you the most throughout your career?
If have been playing since I was four years old. Even the coaches since day one have influenced me as much as my recent coaches. Ken Turner, my 10-under coach, has been my biggest influence. He is the reason I am here today.
3.) Is there a pitcher you could compare yourself to?
Not usually. This year I have modeled my game after Sara Plourde, who is our new pitching coach this season. I try to take what she teaches me and follow her techniques.
4.) What is the toughest aspect of pitching and what specifically makes it difficult?
The toughest aspect is probably that you have eyes on you the whole time. You set the pace for the game, and are in charge on the mound. People look up to you in the field.
5.) What are your game day rituals?
Paint my nails, and straighten my hair. I always talk to my roommate and give her a high five before each game.
6.) What has been your favorite softball memory thus far?
Beating Lehigh last season. One of my old coaches passed away the week before, and it was an honor to win for him. It was also the only time that we beat Lehigh since I have been at Lafayette.
7.) Any future plans in the sport?
No. I think I am done after this.
8.) What don’t people know about you?
I am into old cars. I would love to own a ’69 mustang.
9.) You are a Civil Engineer. What plans do you have after college?
I don’t have a job yet, but I am trying to stay as close to home as possible near Philly. I probably will go back to school at some point, but I want to work within the environmental field.
10.) Being a senior what can you do to help turn this season around?
It starts with confidence. We need to stay positive, that is our issue. If I stay confident hopefully we will all start being confident.
