Several administrative announcements and budget approvals comprised Student Government’s short Sept. 19 meeting.
The meeting was rendered null after the agenda was posted on the organization’s Instagram only six hours before for the second week in a row. According to the bylaws, meetings can only be held if the agenda is posted publicly at least 12 hours beforehand.
The Sept. 12 meeting minutes were approved, despite violating the agenda deadline.
Several updates were reported from the executive board, including the announcement of a “Meet ‘n Greet” event in October, an update on discussions around the “Swipe It Forward” project, a reminder on the excuses deadline and a revision to the template for committee reports.
The resignation of Tatia Jahan ’26 was announced, leaving two vacancies in the 2026 representatives, the only class year currently with open spots.
Budget approvals were then brought forth in response to six student organizations requesting a change in their Fall 2024 budget. All organizations had their revised budgets approved.
The meeting ended with committee reports. The budget committee announced it will be adding a second office hours time slot and plans to review budget guidelines later in the semester. The accessibility ad hoc committee reported plans to work with Student Involvement to create a more accessible first-year orientation program following observations and feedback from this year’s program.
College President Nicole Hurd will be attending Student Government’s Sept. 26 meeting to present updates to the college’s strategic plan.
