A new family-owned business is beautifying downtown Easton.
“There’s no other place right down here that does lashes and facials and tattooing,” said Helena Petrossian, who performs the facials at the shop Metropolitan Ink & Beauty Bar.
Petrossian’s daughters, Grace Petrossian and Liv Petrossian, offer services for tattoos and lash extensions, respectively.
“No one’s scared to say what they think,” Liv Petrossian said about working with her mother and sister. “Everyone just says whatever because we’re all family.”
Helena Petrossian offers a 30-minute lunchtime facial but says most of her facials last between 60 and 70 minutes, depending on the client’s skin type.
“She does the deep look at your skin and sees what’s dry, sees if you need extractions and really personalizes it,” client Caryn Ciccone said about her facial. “So that’s what was really important for me.”
Grace Petrossian had the idea for Metropolitan Ink & Beauty Bar first and has been tattooing with her license since May 2023.
“I know so many girls that weren’t getting tattooed because they were afraid to walk into these shops full of grown men,” she said. “I wanted to have a studio where I could work for myself and have girls come in and be comfortable.”
Grace Petrossian said that her mission was to “make it accessible to everyone.”
Petrossian inked Yanina Chicas ‘26’s second tattoo, a sprig of lavender, on Tuesday.
“Gracie was super, super receptive to my questions,” Chicas said. “She was really engaging with me, and I appreciated that.”
Liv Petrossian does lash lifts, brow tints and laminations as well as lash extensions, but says her most popular service is the extensions.
Kristin Mackey said she met Petrossian at her previous salon in New Jersey and followed her to Metropolitan Ink & Beauty Bar because she loved her work.
“I’m very picky, and she does an amazing job,” Mackey said. “She’s very accommodating. She’s very loyal to her customers.”
The Petrossians grew up in New Jersey, where Helena Petrossian left the industry to raise her daughters after working for L’Oreal for about 13 years. Now that Grace and Liv Petrossian are in their twenties, she’s returning to work.
“We’re all on the same page as far as we want it to be successful,” Helena Petrossian said. “We all want to be self-employed.”
The Petrossians signed the lease in August. Helena Petrossian’s husband, a family friend and Grace Petrossian renovated the space.
Metropolitan Ink & Beauty Bar soft-opened in March and will have a grand opening on May 10. They plan to add a nail tech and a permanent jewelry service.
“It’s just a nice, inviting place,” Mackey said. “That’s the way they made it and that’s them.”
