Representative Christo Maheras ‘26 said that the student organizations committee has been “really busy” handling club applications. Nine clubs applied for new membership. Clubs will soon give a five-minute presentation to Student Government before a Q&A session in advance of a vote to determine if the club is granted membership.
Maheras then gave an update on the Financial Guidelines committee. His announcement that data collection was finished was met with applause. The rest of the semester will be spent writing the guidelines, which will be more focused on equity. Maheras also mentioned that the committee is hoping to highlight clubs that deserve extra attention, as well as possibly putting clauses in the guidelines that mention violations and clubs’ right to fundraise.
Members also participated in a communications activity in which they split up into groups to work on admissions and outreach, a dining statement, a content calendar and a website update.
