Easton shops provide a food crawl for spring
Comprised of twenty six of Easton’s new as well as old shops, “Spring into Easton” is the city’s shopping and free tasting crawl tomorrow from 12-4 p.m.
The 26 participating shops include J. Morgan Salon and Home, Skinterest Skincare Boutique and Salvage Goods. However, not only will this be a day of fabulous spring shopping, but each shop will also have samples from Easton’s many delicious dining establishments. Participating restaurants include Sweet Girlz Bakery, Pearly Baker’s Ale House, Sette Luna, Mesa Modern Mexican, Bank Street Creamery and many more.
Easton is known to be a foodie city with numerous delicious spots to grab a bite, the idea to host such an event came from “one of our committee members…wanted to bring attention to the many retailers we have in town,” Main Street Initiative Manager Kim Kmetzsaid.
“He wanted to highlight all the retail shopping destinations downtown,” Kmetz said. By uniting forces with the restaurants in Easton, the Main Street Initiativewill be hosting its second “Spring into Easton” crawl this year.
This is how the crawl works: each retail establishment will be paired with a restaurant and as guests shop and sample their way through downtown Easton, they will have the option of filling out a game card for a chance to win prizes and gift cards at the end.
With a turnout of about a thousand people last year, the EMSI hopes for beautiful weather and the growth of its budding crawl.
“We would love to see Lafayette families and students come downtown,” Kmetz said.
