The golf team competed at the 14th Annual Connecticut Cup in Hampden, Massachusetts, hosted by the University of Connecticut from Sunday through Tuesday. The Leopards took home a 12th-place finish out of 13 schools.
Junior Harry Dessel picked up where he left off with last weekend’s even-par performance, carding 74-72-76 over the three days for a score of 222 and finishing tied for 17th place out of 78 participating.
The Maroon and White sat at 12th after every round, shooting 16-over-par on Sunday and 20-over-par on Monday. The team left Tuesday with a total score of 929 at the par-72, 7,602-yard Greathorse Golf Club.
Senior Quint Dingledine tied for 27th overall, partly due to a four-over-par finish in the final round. Sophomore Winston Kelenc-Blank tied for 59th with a total score of 237, with freshman Harrison Browne not so far behind him at 245, good for 69th.
Senior Sean Saw scored 83 on all three days, putting him in a tie for 74th. Sophomore Hudson Pace, who competed as an individual, shot 77-84-75, spotting him at 57th.
The Leopards will return to the green on Oct. 13 when they compete at the Bucknell Invitation, hosted by Bucknell University at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Four members of the golf team and the coach did not respond to requests for comment.
