On Oct. 4, The Lafayette released an election survey to campus, looking to gauge campus political voices and the breakdown of perspectives. Here are the results of the survey:
- 124 people responded to the poll, 120 of whom were students
- 121 of the 124 people had registered to vote at the time of their response
- 89 of the 124 respondents (71.8%) said they would vote for Kamala Harris, though 60.5% of respondents identified with the Democratic Party
- 72 of the 105 respondents (68.6%) who were registered to vote in Pennsylvania do not live in Pennsylvania
- The most important issues to voters were abortion (35 respondents) and the economy (35 respondents)
- The least important issue to voters was crime (26 respondents)
Below is a chart with several of The Lafayette’s primary survey questions. From left to right, the data represents responses to the following questions:
- Which presidential candidate do you plan to vote for?
- What political party do you align with?
- In what state are you registered to vote?
The results on the bottom of the graphic represent the breakdown of respondents’ most important issues. Around 110 of the 124 total respondents answered this question.
