Student Government’s Oct. 24 meeting consisted of a review of upcoming organization events, an update on the Pard Pantry and budget approvals for nine student organizations.
The approval of the previous week’s minutes was pushed to the end of the meeting due to a misplacement of the minutes; it was misplaced in Student Government’s Google Drive.
The meeting first entered an executive session for unknown reasons — it was not specified why. After the session, President Thania Hernandez ‘25 announced that she would be meeting with members to review their experience in Student Government and talk about running in the upcoming executive board election.
Inclusivity Officer Sasha Carter ‘27 later presented an update on the Pard Pantry. She took suggestions on what items should be included in packages for students who will be staying on campus for Thanksgiving. Ideas included hot chocolate, ramen, mugs, candy and puzzles.
Nine clubs and organizations requested budget approvals and six had their requests granted. Alpha Phi Omega, Beta Beta Beta, Boxing Club, Club Tennis, Le Cercle Francophone and Student Government were all granted funding.
Open floor then took place, where Student Government advisor Allison Williams talked about drafting an email to club officers about club budgeting. An email was eventually sent to student organization leaders on Oct. 25, which included a student organization monthly calendar, a budget feedback form and an equipment reservation form.
