Setting

Centrally located on Bank St. and across the street from Bank Street Creamery, Oak Steakhouse provides an accessible and luxurious dining experience. Just walking in through the front doors of Oak, diners are immediately impressed by the intricate details of the interior design. While most dining tables are located in the main entrance area of the restaurant, there is an exclusive space for private parties on its rooftop. With candles on each table and light jazz music playing in the background, Oak creates the full dining experience.

Meal

The menu offers basically everything one could expect from a typical steakhouse, with options ranging from various types of steaks to lobster tails. The menu, however, is fairly pricey with appetizers ranging from $7.95 to $155.95, the cost of an appetizer meant for 6 people.

Almost immediately upon sitting down, the waiter brought out a bread basket with sweet butter, olive oil and dipping sauces. I personally found the sweet butter very fitting for the bread and thoroughly enjoyed it.

For my appetizer, I ordered the fried calamari ($9.95), which was much better than I expected it to be at a steakhouse. It was cooked perfectly and was the ideal size for one person. If all appetizers are of the same proportion, I wouldn’t recommend sharing an appetizer, unless it notes it is meant for multiple people.

For my entree, I ordered a 20 oz dry rubbed Kansas steak ($37.95) cooked medium rare with steak fries ($5.95) on the side. Aside from the three unexpected onion rings, the dish was unparalleled. The steak may have been one of the best ones I’ve had in the area, with crunchy edges and a well-timed pink center. Both the steak and fries had chopped green onions on top, which I think was a good touch.

Service

Throughout my meal, I found the service to be excellent. The waitress was constantly checking on me. The staff was extremely friendly and were attentive to any specific requests I might’ve had. The food was prepared and served relatively quickly for a steakhouse of this caliber.

Overall

With great decoration and excellent food, Oak Steakhouse compliments downtown Easton in many ways. While the menu items are very pricey for a college budget, the restaurant is a great place to go for a celebratory dinner or night out. The restaurant definitely did not disappoint.

Open all week except for Mondays, Oak Steakhouse requires a reservation, except for bar seating.
