This past weekend, family members posted updates to freshman hit-and-run victim Aubrey Baumbach’s Facebook support page, “Aubrey’s Odyssey”. As she has spent the past few weeks at Massachusetts General Hospital, Emma Baumbach, a family member of Aubrey, believes she is “ready to start her intense rehabilitation phase without interruption” at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlestown, where she will stay for a few months.
“It is too early to tell how she will respond to the intensive rehab but we are hopeful that she will begin to interact with us more consistently,” Doreen Costantino posted on the group.
Many cards and “offers of assistance” have been extended to Aubrey and her family and friends.
“The days have been made easier by knowing that we have all of your supporting us and praying for Aubrey’s recovery,” Costantino said. The family is very hopeful that she will “move through the coming weeks and months with great success.”
“Her fight has been harder that we could have ever imagined and she’s showing no signs of giving in,” Emma Baumbach said. “She is a tough one and we are so very proud of her.”
