Co-captains Sam Brinton ‘14 and Andrew Warshauer ‘15 will lead the Lafayette men’s cross country team into its first race tomorrow morning at the Lehigh Invitational.
“We had a solid preseason of training with Coach Jen [Curran],” Warshauer said. “We are definitely excited for the meet [tomorrow] to validate all the hard work that everyone has put in this summer.”
Five new freshmen join the team along with one transfer student and are expected to make an immediate impact to help improve upon last year’s eighth-place finish at Patriot League Championships.
“They will all need to adapt to collegiate racing quickly,” Brinton said. “I think this meet will be the first step towards a successful season.”
Tomorrow’s race is just 6K in distance as opposed to the usual 8K, which will help ease the transition from summer training to racing.
