I know it may seem as though this is awfully close to the release of the new Twilight movie, but The Last Werewolf is no Stephanie Meyer novel, and it is definitely not for the faint of heart.

The werewolves have all been hunted down, and Jacob is the only one left. And after two hundred years of the chase, of unquenchable hunger and an insatiable sex drive, Jacob is about ready to throw in the towel anyway. His hunter, however, has been waiting years for the final showdown, and he is not too happy with the idea of an anti-climactic pity-kill. So they give him some incentive … and the chase begins.

With an odd balance of sex and violence, human feelings and animalistic urges, and the acceptance of defeat versus desperate, impossible hope, Jacob writes down his story to chronicle the downfall of his race. But this may not be the quick defeat Jacob was hoping for. Because maybe, after all, Jacob does has something to live for. Maybe he’s not the last werewolf.
