Nick Gurzynski: What’s your favorite vacation spot?
Brandon Goldstein: Boca Raton.
NG: Favorite Pre-Match Meal?
BG: Turkey Sandwich and Matzah Ball Soup.
NG: Which match are you most looking forward to playing?
BG: Loyola. I lost a close match against them last year. It was 4-3 and I want redemption.
NG: Which schools look like the biggest threats this year?
BG: Colgate and Loyola will be our biggest competition this season.
NG: What are some goals you have as team captain for the team this year?
BG: As a team, our goal is to get a better seed going into the Patriot League tournament. Across the conference, many teams lost talented upperclassmen to graduation. This will better our chances of success in the tournament.
NG: What did you work on this summer to improve your game?
BG: I tweaked my serve slightly, which allows me to have more velocity as well as more movement.
NG: What is your most memorable match during your career at Lafayette?
BG: Beating Lehigh in Doubles 8-6 was by far the most memorable of my matches.
NG: Do you think the team has improved in the offseason? How?
BG: No one graduated which is huge. We also have a really strong freshman class and can only improve from last year.
NG: What songs would we find you listening to if you saw you at the gym?
BG: Lifestyles by Rich Gang and Rather Be by Clean Bandit.
NG: Who’s the best opponent you have ever faced?
BG: Noah Rubin of Wake Forest, who is currently playing in the US Open at age 18.
