Eastonian eats this weekend: Events this Sunday for your hungry stomach

Eastonian eats this weekend: Events this Sunday for your hungry stomach

If you’ve recently found yourself in a bit of a lull with cafeteria options, fear not. There are two very exciting and delicious events happening in Easton this Sunday.

Start pedaling at 11 a.m. to the 21st Annual Bike to Brunch & 40th Anniversary Celebration hosted by Genesis Bicycles with a four mile bicycle ride starting out in Genesis Bicycles’ parking lot all the way to Hugh Moore Park for an all you can eat, free buffet brunch. Live music will also provided by the Easton School of Rock Bank Street Band and Luke Jazz as well as countless bicycle-themed activities once you make it to the finish line. Aside from the free food and a great workout, Genesis Bicycles will also donate $5 to the Children’s Home of Easton on behalf of each Bike to Brunch participant.

If you’ve decided to skip breakfast or slept too late to make it to brunch, head over to the 3rd & Ferry Fish Market for their first annual Clam Jam, Easton’s newest food festival focusing on seafood.

“There are all these festivals going on in the area like Bacon Fest and Garlic Fest,” 3rd & Ferry Manager Bradley Wilson said. “We really enjoy being a part of the downtown area with the restaurants here, so we thought of an idea of a street festival geared more towards seafood.” This delicious event will be divided into three sections, one being the Chowda Cook-off beginning at 11 a.m. The event requires $10 admission fee for tasting and voting on the best chowder as well as home-brewed beer for those who are of age. From 12:30 p.m. to 3:30p.m., event-goers can participate in the Clambake Tent for a sit down dining experience consisting of lobster bisque, family style clambake featuring clams, mussels, crab legs, potatoes, sweet corn, and chorizo, and lastly a dessert of key lime pie all for $39.95. Clam Jam will also offer a live cooking demonstration, artisan crafters’ stands, and live music all day to accompany guests as they partake in the yummy, fishy festivities.

So whether you decide to take the athletic, fast paced or the lazy, food crawl approach to dining this Sunday, there is plenty to eat and experience regardless of how you want to spend your day in Easton.
